Russian forces destroyed the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv region on the night of April 11th.

This was reported by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Centrenergo, Andriy Hota.

According to him, the plant workers were not harmed. As a result of the strikes, a massive fire broke out in the turbine hall. Currently, firefighting efforts are underway at the facility, added Hota.

All workers who were on duty during the shelling are alive.

Earlier, the mayor of the city of Ukrayinka, Oleksandr Turenko, where the TPP is located, urged local residents to stock up on water and charge all electrical devices.

The Trypillia Thermal Power Plant is the most powerful power plant in Kyiv region. It is the largest electricity supplier to the Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr regions. The plant covers an area of ​​281.3 hectares. The TPP is located in the city of Ukrayinka in the Obukhiv district on the banks of the Kaniv reservoir.

Earlier, it was reported that during the massive air attack by the Russians on the morning of April 11th, two underground gas storage facilities in Ukraine were hit. “Naftogaz Ukraine” reported that its employees were not harmed.
