On September 15, Russian military dropped an aerial bomb on a residential district in the temporarily occupied city of Nova Kakhovka.
This was reported to Suspilne (Ukrainian Public Broadcasting) by the Mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Volodymyr Kovalenko.
According to him, local residents witnessed an aircraft dropping an aerial bomb on the residential district, causing significant damage.
“At present, the district where the bomb struck has been cordoned off by Russian occupiers. They are going through the apartments and assessing the consequences”, Kovalenko said.
A source in the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the Russian army released a controlled aerial bomb from a Russian Su-34 aircraft. The bomb did not reach the right bank and fell in Nova Kakhovka.
As Natalia Humeniuk announced at a briefing, Russian forces launched a controlled aerial bomb at Nova Kakhovka.
“Attempting to carry out another airstrike with controlled aerial bombs on Berislav, Russian occupiers accidentally dropped one of the guided bombs on Nova Kakhovka in a residential area, damaging several apartment buildings. There are casualties among the local population according to preliminary information. They are also trying to spin the narrative that it was done by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. However, everything is documented; the occupiers have dropped their aerial bombs like this before”, Humeniuk stated.
Information about the casualties is being clarified. It is worth noting that on the night of September 15, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 17 “suicide drones,” all of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces. The enemy carried out the attack using strike UAVs from the southeast direction (Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia).
