Russian occupiers carried out a mass air strike against positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces using RBK-500 cluster bombs modified into guided bombs in the area of Staromayorsk in Donetsk Oblast.

Analysts from the Institute of War Studies provided this information.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces repelled ground offensive attacks by Russian invaders in the Staromayorsk area. Russian forces were unable to advance in the border region between Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts on November 19.

“Russian bloggers claimed that Russian forces launched a major air strike using RBK-500 cluster bombs modified into guided bombs against Ukrainian positions near Staromayorsk”, the statement said.

War correspondents also reported that this strike was the “first major Russian strike on Ukraine using this modified bomb that can be guided”.

It’s worth noting that earlier, Russian forces used chemical weapons in two areas on the Ukrainian front, specifically in the directions of Bakhmut and Svatove. It is most likely that the enemy used chloropicrin, a chemical agent they have previously employed against Ukrainian defense forces.
