The Swedish government has approved the participation of up to 60 military personnel from the Armed Forces in the creation of material and technical support centers near Ukraine, such as in Poland. This is part of a new aid package to Ukraine from Sweden.

It is stated that these centers will repair and service the military equipment that Sweden has provided to Ukraine, such as the CV-90 combat vehicles, Leopard tanks, Archer artillery systems, and Robot 70.
“Of course, it is important that the defense equipment we send can also be used and achieve operational effectiveness”, commented Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson on the establishment of these centers.
The service points are expected to start operating in early autumn. Around 30 Swedes will work at these centers, and they will also train Ukrainian personnel. However, opening the centers will require more spare parts for the equipment from Sweden, but it is expected that they will be provided as part of the next support package.
It should be noted that Sweden has already provided Ukraine’s Defense Forces with some of the most modern CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles.
