The reason is a poor water quality.

The main department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Kyiv recommends not to swim at the capital’s beaches due to the non-compliance of the water quality with sanitary standards. The press service of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection reported. According to the report, SSUFSCP has issued a no-swim recommendation for the following beaches in Kyiv: “Venetsia”, “Veselka”, “Dytiachiy”, “Zolotyi”, “Molodizhny”, “Peredmistna Slobidka”, “Rayduga”, “Telbin”, “Central”, ” Troeshchyna”, “Chortoriy”, “Galerny”, “Verbny”, “Puscha Vodytsia”.

It is also not recommended to swim in the recreation areas “Bereznyaki”, “Rusanivsky Canal”, “Rusanivska Kosa”, “Lisova”, “Gorbachikha”, “Dovbychka”.

According to the State Consumer Service, on July 18-20, water samples were collected from water bodies in recreation areas in Kyiv.

According to the results of sanitary-microbiological and sanitary-chemical onspectionss, the sample points does not represent the requirements of the Hygienic standards of water quality of water bodies to meet the drinking, household and other needs of the population, approved by the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated May 2, 2022 No. 721 and the State Sanitary Rules for Planning and Development of Settlements, approved by Order No. 173 of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated June 19, 1996.
