Since the sart of the russian invasion, the hotline 15-00 of the Kyiv City Center for Gender Equality, Prevention and Combating of Violence has received 5,039 calls related to domestic violence and war-related stress.
This was announced by the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Maryna Honda.
“There were no days when our psychologists did not stop their work after the invasion began. And during this time, 4,164 appeals were received from women, and 875 from men. Women mostly sought for assistance because of domestic violence, men needed support because of the fear of losing loved ones as a result of military actions, the fear of job losing and due to suicidal moods. Everyone who calls the hotline, regardless of their problem, receives psychological assistance from our specialists,” Honda said.
She also added that, in addition to telephone assistance, after the deoccupation of the Kyiv region, psychologists of the Center worked with victims of sexual violence by the occupiers, helping them cope with these traumatic stresses.
In addition, the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration reported that the city will continue to develop a system of combating and preventing violence in all its manifestations. In particular, she announced the launch of mobile teams of social and psychological assistance to victims of domestic violence, which will be operational soon.
