Farmers of Bila Tserkva, Boryspil and Obukhiv districts are leaders in harvesting.

Harvesting continues in the farms of the Kyiv region. More than 1 million tons of grain and leguminous crops which harvested from an area of 342.92 thousand hectares have already been threshed. The press service of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration said about this.

As Oleksiy Kuleba, head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, reported, farmers have already harvested and threshed winter and spring wheat – 787.15 thousand tons; winter and spring barley – 166.3 thousand tons; rye – 17.84 thousand tons; oats – 1.32 thousand tons; millet – 0.62 thousand tons. In addition, the pea crop has already been completely harvested in the region – 15.7 thousand tons.

The agrarians of the region are also completing the harvesting of winter and spring rapeseed. To date, 160.61 thousand tons have already been harvested.

Kuleba emphasized that the leaders of the Kyiv region in terms of harvesting 2022 are the agrarians of Bila Tserkva, Boryspil and Obukhiv districts.

“Bila Tserkva, Boryspil and Obukhiv districts are the leaders in harvesting in the region. More than 90% of the planned areas of wheat and barley were harvested there. Currently, farms are preparing for planting winter crops for the 2023 harvest,” Kuleba noted.

It is planned to plant a total of 131.6 thousand hectares: wheat – 118.1 thousand hectares, barley – 5.5 thousand hectares, rye – 8 thousand hectares, and rapeseed – 60.3 thousand hectares. In addition, agricultural producers of the region are also provided with mineral fertilizers, namely: nitrogen fertilizers – 115.3 thousand tons of physical weight; phosphorus – 6.2 thousand tons; potash – 3.5 thousand tons; complex – 40.8 thousand tons.

“In the war conditions, the farmers of Kyiv region continue to work tirelessly. After all, they have an important mission – to accumulate a food reserve for our region and the state,” Kuleba concluded.
