The implementation of the program will provide the residents of Kyiv with decent living conditions and reduce the queue for getting housing in the capital.

This was reported in the Kyiv City Council.

The Kyiv City Council approved the City target program for providing housing to citizens who need to improve living conditions for 2022-2024. The implementation of the program will provide the residents of Kyiv with decent living conditions and reduce the housing queue.

“The Kyiv City Council deputies supported an important economic decision to develop an effective system of social support for some categories of the citizens. Currently, financing for the building of 1,628 apartments is provided at the expense of state and local budgets, as well as borrowed funds. This will contribute to the provision of good living conditions for residents who are on the apartment register. I would like to note that the program was previously worked out in detail with the representatives of the territorial community of the city of Kyiv in order to approve really effective work processes,” – the Kyiv City Council noted.

And they added that the city’s target program includes six options that cover different categories of citizens and have their own financing mechanism:

  • provision of social housing for citizens who need to improve living conditions and have the right to get it, including orphans, children who are deprived of parental care;
  • providing citizens with affordable housing;
  • providing citizens with temporary housing;
  • provision of housing to citizens who need to improve living conditions with the involvement of mortgage housing loans;
  • financial and credit support for young people to provide them with housing;
  • provision of housing for rent with redemption.
