The Ministry of Defense is engaging partners from the United Kingdom, Norway, and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency to assist in developing mechanisms for the functioning of the Defense Procurement Agency.

This was announcedby the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, as reported by the Cabinet of Ministers press service.

“The agency that we established in 2022 is separate from the ministry’s apparatus, which minimizes corruption risks. This decision brings the defense department one step closer to implementing NATO standards and procedures, promotes the efficient use of budgetary funds, and reduces the delivery time of goods for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”, noted Reznikov.

Deputy Minister of Defense Denis Sharapov also revealed that centralized procurement of goods and services intended for national security and defense programs will be ensured by a single national agency. Sharapov specified that it will carry out procurement based on the needs determined by the Armed Forces.

As we reported, an agency for procurement will be established under the Ministry of Defense, and global manufacturers will be involved.
