The Ministry of Defense will order "Oplot" tanks from "Ukroboronprom" for the Ukrainian army.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, During a visit to the Kharkiv region.

“I am convinced that in the tank coalition, the Ukrainian tank, such as the BM ‘Oplot’, should be in the forefront. A armored fist must be present on the front line, because the most important value is the preservation of the lives of our defenders. In the industry, I remain a Ukrainian protectionist. That is why the decision has been made for the Ministry of Defense to order ‘Oplots’ for the Ukrainian army from ‘Ukroboronprom'”, the minister said.

Reznikov tested the “Oplot” tank, which is a modern Ukrainian main battle tank developed by the Kharkiv Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering. Weighing over 50 tons, it is capable of reaching speeds of up to 70 km/h. Its main weapon is a 125mm gun, which can hit targets up to five kilometers away and also fires guided missiles.
