The Prime Minister of Saxony suggested that Ukraine should accept the loss of territories. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded, urging Germany to provide greater support to Ukraine.

Oleg Nikolenko, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, emphasized that such actions by Russia would lead to further aggression beyond Ukraine’s borders.

He called on the German politician to face the truth and understand that the only way to stop the war is to defeat Moscow.

“By the way, Putin knows this region well from his time in service in Dresden. Actions with territories will inevitably lead to greater aggression by Russia, undoubtedly extending beyond Ukraine’s borders. Peace in Europe lies in defeating Moscow. We urge the German politician to face the truth: first Chancellor Angela Merkel, and now Chancellor Olaf Scholz, have made tremendous political efforts to persuade Putin to stop the war. It didn’t help. Nor will any other actions. His goal is the destruction of Ukraine and the destabilization of all of Europe”, he said.

The Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, believes that the German government should not only supply weapons to Ukraine but also engage in diplomatic initiatives to facilitate a ceasefire. He also called on allies to “try to influence Putin.”

“Perhaps for a ceasefire, Ukraine will initially need to accept temporary loss of control over some territories. Not a single square meter of Ukrainian territory will become Russian. But, as in other major wars, the time has come for a final decision”, said the Prime Minister of Saxony.
