The State Production and Consumer Service says that the quality of water in the rivers has deteriorated.
The main department of the State Production and Consumer Service in Kyiv, “Kyiv City Center of the Ministry of Health” and Company “AK Kyivvodokanal” are entrusted with conducting current and control laboratory tests of drinking water of centralized water supply and artesian wells to bacteriological and physicochemical indicators.
This is reported by the State Production and Consumer Service.June 24, a meeting of the Standing Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations of the Kyiv City State Administration was held on the state of providing the population of Kyiv with high-quality and safe drinking water for human health in the conditions of martial law.
The sources of Kyiv’s water supply are surface sources – the Dnipro and Desna rivers, as well as underground water – artesian water of the Jurassic and Cenomanian aquifers, the administration reported.
“The water quality of the Dnipro and Desna rivers has significantly deteriorated, and its qualitative composition indicators are increasing. “According to the results of the analysis of the drinking water quality indicators over the past 10 years have increased by 18-22%,” the report says.
High doses of reagents, such as aluminum sulfate, are used for the purification and disinfection of drinking water.
