Oleksandr Syrskyi, commenting on his presence in the combat zone in Donetsk region, reported corrections made in assessing the situation in the combat zone.

This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on his Facebook page.

Syrskyi noted that the situation in the area of the Ukrainian Defense Forces operation remains difficult. The enemy continues active offensive actions on many fronts of the front line.

He stated that the situation is particularly tense in the Avdiivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, where Russian assault units are trying to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops and capture the settlements of Tonenke, Orlivka, Semenivka, Berdychiv, and Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region.

Fierce battles are also taking place in the areas of Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy is trying to regain control.

According to him, during the work, certain miscalculations in understanding the situation and assessing the enemy were identified among individual commanders, which directly affected the defense stability on certain fronts.

“I have taken all measures to correct the situation on the spot, allocating additional resources of ammunition and material means, as well as necessary reserves”, he said.

Syrskyi also praised the courage, resilience, and heroism of the servicemen of the 3rd Assault Brigade and the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade, who expelled the enemy that broke through to the outskirts of Orlivka.

It should be noted that as reported by the press service of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, in order to prevent the enemy from consolidating in Krasnohorivka, fighters of the 1st and 2nd Assault Battalions carried out a combat operation to clear the city from enemy forces. The brigade noted that in a short period of time, the enemy managed to prepare for prolonged defense.

“Despite resistance and heavy fighting, the assault groups of the brigade inflicted irreversible losses on the enemy – about 100 occupants are “200s”(dead) and “300s” (injured)”, the statement said. The Russians refused to surrender and were liquidated in the buildings they occupied.

In addition, overnight, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also launched a missile strike on a concentration of Russian troops in Olenivka, Donetsk region, using Ukrainian multiple rocket launch systems. 19 occupiers were destroyed, and 12 more were wounded.
