Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba stated that by the end of the week, there will be news with a "positive effect" regarding Ukraine's progress toward EU membership.

He made this announcement during a television marathon.

Regarding the assessment of Ukraine’s progress toward EU membership by the European Commission, on the basis of which the European Council will make decisions regarding negotiations, the Foreign Minister stated that “results will not be announced”.

At the same time, Kuleba mentioned that in the coming days, events and news with a positive effect can be expected. The Ukrainian government has been working to fulfill everything required on our part. The President has been overseeing this… If there are no unforeseen circumstances, Ukraine will open negotiations on EU membership by the end of this year. Currently, we are confidently moving toward this goal, but I won’t disclose the details.

It’s worth noting that President Volodymyr Zelensky signed law No. 9269d on countering money laundering and the financing of terrorism. Its adoption was necessary for Ukraine’s further progress toward the European Union.
