The Ukrainian forces have not yet started the planned counteroffensive.
This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with Reuters.
In his opinion, everyone will witness the real beginning of the offensive actions.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council stated that the Russians mistakenly perceived the advancement of Ukrainian military in some places as the start of a major operation.
“When all of this begins, our military will decide. When we start the counteroffensive, everyone will find out, they will see”, he said.
According to Danilov, there is no doubt that Russia destroyed the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station dam.
This territory has been occupied since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
“They had a military component. It was plan number one. They believed that we would advance in this direction. Their actions will not lead to the consequences they wanted”, added the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
Danilov also emphasized that there can be no negotiations until Russian forces leave Ukrainian territory.
It should be noted that on the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops have transitioned from defense to offense. In the past day, defenders advanced from 200 to 1100 meters on various sections.
