Among the Ukrainians who were successfully brought home are military personnel, border guards, National Guard soldiers, and sailors who defended Mariupol, Azovstal, Kherson Oblast, and fought the enemy in the east.

This was reported by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.

“We managed to bring home 44 of our people. Among them are 36 privates and sergeants and 6 officers. These are military personnel, border guards, National Guard soldiers, and sailors. We also released two civilians”, he stated.

As the head of the OP noted, among those released are wounded individuals who were tortured by the enemy while in captivity. Two men whose wives were previously released from captivity were also returned.

“Our team, the Coordination Headquarters for dealing with prisoners of war, continues to carry out the task of President Volodymyr Zelensky, which was clearly stated: ‘bring everyone home.’ The strength of the state is measured by how it values its people. Our principle is that Ukrainians are the highest value”, Yermak emphasized.

As previously reported, Ukraine is in talks with Russia regarding a prisoner exchange in the “all for all” format and is getting closer to achieving this.
