Ukraine is strengthening positions along the line of confrontation with Russians

The government has allocated an additional 5.6 billion hryvnias for the construction of fortifications along the front line.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this.

“The Government has already allocated 20 billion hryvnias this year for the construction of reliable fortifications. Today, we are adding another 5.6 billion hryvnias”, the statement reads.

Of this amount, 1.1 billion hryvnias are allocated for the construction of fortifications in Donetsk Oblast, over 1 billion hryvnias for Zaporizhzhia Oblast, 1.5 billion hryvnias for Sumy Oblast, and 300 and 400 million hryvnias for Mykolaiv Oblast and Kherson Oblast respectively.

“The work is ongoing 24/7. All of this is necessary to strengthen our defense and protect our soldiers”, added Shmyhal.
