The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov stated that Ukraine wants to completely end the war by the end of this year.
Danilov said that in an interview with the news agency Report.
“We want to completely end the war before winter”, he stated.
When asked if the war would end with the full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, including the liberation of Crimea, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council said, “We have a common plan – to liberate all our territories from the terrorists who attacked us. The only question is time. Whether one or several operations will be conducted depends on many circumstances. We will not limit ourselves to time, we will fight for as long as necessary”.
It is worth noting that President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Ukraine will need more time to start a counteroffensive, as there is a risk of losing many lives otherwise.
However, Zelensky did not mention any specific dates when the Ukrainian army plans to attack. CNN, citing a high-ranking US military official, reports that the Ukrainian Defense Forces began “forming” operations ahead of an expected counteroffensive against the Russian army.
