"Ukroboronprom" will receive a license from the Czech company Česká zbrojovka to manufacture firearms.

This was reported by “Ukroboronprom”.

“The Public Joint Stock Company ‘Ukrainian Defense Industry’ has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Czech company Česká zbrojovka a.s., a subsidiary of Colt CZ Group SE, signing a license transfer agreement. This will allow the production of NATO-standard rifles, including the CZ BREN 2 model, in Ukraine and equip the Armed Forces with proven, high-quality standard firearms, enhancing their operational capabilities”, the company said.

It is noted that the project for the transfer of CZ BREN 2 production technologies was presented at the First International Defense Industries Forum (DFNC 1) in Kyiv at the end of September 2023. At that time, it was a key initiative.

According to the CEO of Česká zbrojovka Jan Zajíc, this agreement is a direct result of the successful use of Czech rifles by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield. The CZ BREN 2 firearms are used by military formations and law enforcement agencies in various countries around the world.

Among these military formations are the army of the Czech Republic, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Operational Group of the French National Gendarmerie (GIGN), the Portuguese Army, the Polish Border Guard, the Romanian Gendarmerie, and others.

It was also previously reported that the State Concern “Ukroboronprom” has started a partnership with innovative defense companies in Lithuania. These Lithuanian companies specialize in creating sights, including thermal imaging sights, modern remote initiation systems, electronic warfare equipment, communication devices, and more.
