In the event of Russian military shelling of Ukraine's energy facilities, as occurred last year, the Ukrainian defense forces will now "powerfully respond" to such attacks.

This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, during a televised marathon called “Unified News”.

“There is a clear understanding that the enemy will not go unpunished if they continue such actions”, – he said.

Danilov also commented on the words of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following yesterday’s security briefing regarding preparations for possible Russian shelling of Ukraine’s energy system, confirming that such hostile attacks this year will not go unanswered.

“We must respond to everything. Moreover, our response will be very strong. When you see it, you will understand what is meant”, stated Danilov.

It’s worth noting that on October 22, it was announced that Ukrainian engineers would learn to defend the energy system from Russian attacks in the UK. The British Army engineers have developed a training program for Ukrainian civilian engineers to protect the energy sector from Russian attacks this winter.
