On the night of December 25, Ukrainian Air Defense units struck a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber on the Mariupol direction. There was combat engagement with another enemy aircraft on the Odesa direction, and information about the impact is being verified.

This was reported by the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk.

The statement mentioned that combat engagement with a Russian Su-30 in the Black Sea was conducted on the Odesa direction. Currently, materials from objective control are being studied to determine whether the target was accurately hit.

“However, the downing of the enemy’s Su-34 fighter-bomber on the Mariupol direction by our anti-aircraft missile system has been confirmed. It did not return to the airfield”, the statement said.

Recall that Ukrainian defenders destroyed three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers on the southern front just last week.
