The Ministry of Culture launched a survey in “Diya” “What will we do with the emblem of the USSR on the shield of the monument of “Motherland”?”. This was reported in Telegram channel by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.
“We dressed it in a poppy wreath, illuminated it several times with the colors of the Ukrainian flag, we know that it is our Motherland, but there is one “but”. Since February 24, the process of clearing our country of the symbols of the Soviet past has intensified, and we support it in every possible way, considering public opinion and observing the law,” they posted.
The Ministry of Culture points out that the technical process of ‘cleaning’ the Motherland from Soviet symbols is a difficult process in terms of security.
“It is important to do this in a way that the monument is not damaged due to a change in load. Specialists of engineers and architects — should be involved,” the ministry said.
The following options are:
Leave everything as it is.
Remove the symbol of the USSR.
Replace with a trident — the State Emblem of Ukraine.
