The World Bank is allocating an additional $1.34 billion to Ukraine, with these funds earmarked specifically for social payments.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal made this announcement, stating that the funds will be directed towards pension payments, teacher salaries, support for veterans, and other priority expenditures in the state budget.
According to Shmyhal, the main portion of this financing package, amounting to $1.086 billion, comes from the Government of Japan. The rest consists of grants from the United States, Switzerland, and the Ukraine Reform Support Fund (URTF). Financial assistance from international partners enables Ukraine to maintain macrofinancial stability and allocate domestic resources to the needs of the military, emphasized the head of the Ukrainian government.
It is worth noting that Ukraine has also received an additional tranche of nearly $900 million under the International Monetary Fund program, with these funds contributing to the national budget.
