Zelensky is willing to run in the presidential elections if they take place during a war, otherwise not.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared this in an interview with Romanian media.

When asked if he would run in the elections, Zelensky replied, “If the war continues – yes, but if it’s over – no. I can’t run away during a war”.

Additionally, President Zelensky commented on the timeline for ending the war.

“I can’t give you an exact date, I think no one can. I know that we are moving towards a counteroffensive, and Russia will leave our territories. I believe I know when, but I also can’t tell you that”, he explained.

The Ukrainian President noted that the current phase is the final stage of the war.

“This is the last stage of the war. It’s not in the middle. The first stage was the occupation, followed by halting the advance and taking matters into our own hands. I think this is the last part. We have many fears: money, weapons… But this is the final, most challenging part”, Zelensky stated.
