President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the advanced positions of Ukrainian defenders in Avdiivka.
This was reported by the press service of the President’s Office.
During the visit, Zelensky listened to a report from the commander of the operational-tactical group “Donetsk” about the situation in the area of his responsibility.
The head of state also spoke with servicemen from the Marine Corps, airborne assault, mechanized, and artillery units, and thanked them for their service.
“I am honored to be here today to thank you for your service, for defending our land, Ukraine, our families. I congratulate you on the holidays, on Easter, and wish you only victory – what every Ukrainian wishes for, what is very important for all of us. I wish health to all of you and your families and am sincerely grateful from every Ukrainian for the great path you walk every day”, the president said.
A moment of silence was held to honor the memory of fallen defenders.
The president presented state awards to servicemen. Defenders received the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky II and III degrees, as well as the Orders “For Courage” II and III degrees.
The military presented the head of state with a military coin, a chevron, and a board with the symbols of the 110th separate mechanized brigade.
