Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that the aggressor country is expected to launch attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure this winter.
He shared this information with foreign media, as reported by Le Monde.
“I believe that we are better prepared for winter than before. But I don’t think Russia will use less weaponry. Winter will be tough… From the point of view of air defense, we are in a better position than last winter”, he said.
The president noted that Russia is preparing for extensive shelling of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, aiming to disrupt energy supplies especially during the winter period. In his opinion, Ukraine is much better prepared for winter this year than the previous one. However, he emphasized that this period will still be challenging for Ukrainians, as the plans of the aggressor should not be underestimated.
“I think they are accumulating rockets, but they don’t have many more rockets than before. Otherwise, they would have already started bombing”, explained the president.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia is accumulating long-range and precision weapons, actively testing them on its territory.
