President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will personally visit Japan during the three-day summit of G7 participants, which begins in Hiroshima.

This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov.

“There will be very important matters discussed there, so the physical presence of our president is absolutely crucial to defend our interests – to explain, provide clear proposals, and present clear arguments regarding the events taking place on the territory of our country”, he said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will not travel to Japan for the G7 summit. He will participate in the G7 leaders’ meeting online. This was announced on May 19 by the press service of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine.

“President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will participate in the G7 leaders’ meeting in Japan in an online format”, the statement from the National Security and Defense Council reads.

It should be noted that the G7 summit will make a number of important decisions, including those related to new sanctions against Russia. In particular, the United Kingdom intends to announce a ban on the import of diamonds from Russia.
