In the morning of March 6, the Russian army struck Odesa with missiles. Due to the enemy attack, there are casualties and injuries.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this during his visit to Odesa.

“We saw this strike today. You see who we are dealing with, they don’t care where to strike. I know that there were victims today, I don’t know all the details yet, but I know that there are casualties, there are injuries”, he said.

At the time of the attack, the head of the state was with the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the port. According to the Greek Prime Minister, the explosions were close to them.

The Prime Minister said that the alarm sounded at the moment when Zelensky was explaining the importance of the port and talking about what was being done to restore and strengthen Ukrainian maritime routes in the Black Sea.

“At the very end, we heard the sound of sirens and explosions, which were very close to us. We didn’t have time to go to a sheltered place, it’s an experience that is very impressive”, the politician said.

The President added that the Russian army doesn’t care whether to target military or civilians. He reminded that to defend Ukraine, an air defense system is needed.

“These are military, civilians, international guests – it doesn’t matter to these people. They are either out of their minds or completely unaware of what their terrorist army is doing. This indicates that above all, we need to defend ourselves. The best of all would be an air defense system”, Zelensky emphasized.

Earlier it was reported that Russian military struck Odesa with a missile while the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis was visiting there. The article in Protothema suggests that the target of the Russian military was the convoy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The explosion occurred 150 meters away from where the Greek delegation led by Mitsotakis was staying.
